30,000 Gallon Per Day System / TDS Removal

Client Background

AW is one of the leading manufacturers of automatic transmissions and transmission components in the world market. A subsidiary of Aisin AW Co., Ltd., AW-NC was the first North American production facility for AW, and is the major automatic transmission manufacturing facility for Toyota Corporation. Products include: torque converters, oil pumps, clutch assemblies and stamped parts as well as fully assembled automatic transmissions.

Waste Water Treatment Needs

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of production waste waters often exceeded 20,000 parts per million (ppm). This total was far in excess of allowable discharge limits, and not congruous with AW’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Installed in August, 2004, the 30,000 gallon per day VACOM System was able to treat the 20,000 ppm TDS feed water to less than 100 ppm TDS and concentrate the dissolved solids, metals and oils into a waste fuel product.

The installation of the VACOM system enabled AW-NC to cost-effectively attain its discharge goals.
